A beautiful village near Kashan, that his inhabitants were Zoroastrian right until Shah Esma’il I came to the throne, he was an intolerant Muslim ruler who didn’t accept any religion other than Islam; during his reign, many turned to Islam or immigrated to other countries that were tolerant of their religion. however, the costumes and the ancient dialect of people in Abyaneh proves that although they turned to Islam, they kept a lot from their Sassanid ancestor. Abyaneh is located at the bottom of a gorge dominated by a small Mongol fort. The main street goes right through the remains of the Atashkadeh or the fire temple, open on three sides and with a broken dome. This structure probably dates back to the late Sassanid era and was built in two stages. The village is known for its reddish hue and the beautiful local dresses and costumes of women.
